There is nothing sweeter and more adorable to eat than a cupcake. No one fights over the frosting-laden corner pieces of a regular cake when you've got a cupcake in hand. But decorating your own cupcakes can be time sucking, exhausting process... especially when you need a few dozen of 'em. Wouldn't it be great if there was a bakery that specialized in custom-made, personalized cupcakes from scratch? There is.
Boston-based Mix Bakery's homemade cupcakes actually require you to push the limits of your imagination. Or, if you just want them to cater to your plain old sugar cravings with a traditional recipe, they're happy to oblige.
Mix Bakery is offering one of our lucky readers 3 dozen cupcakes for their wedding or shower. What would you dream up? Red velvet cake with white cream cheese frosting sprinkled with candy hearts?
HOW TO WIN: Leave a comment. The best cupcake creation wins! Contest ends: 7/2/10 midnight EST

How about a "Snickers" cupcake - devil's food cake with chocolate chips inside, topped with peanut butter frosting - I'll take 2 dozen for myself!!
(06.29.10 @ 08:24 AM)I would do anything for a chocolate cupcake filled with gewy caramel, topped with chocolate buttercream icing and a sprinkle of sea salt. It's the cupcake version of my favorite cookie.
(06.29.10 @ 09:21 AM)Yum, what a sweet concept – build your own cupcake! My idea would be to make a cannoli cupcake: a vanilla base, ricotta filling/frosting with a dip of chocolate chips and pistachios on top. A sugar wafer coin would look adorable sitting on the top. Delicous!
(06.29.10 @ 10:31 AM)Great ideas so far! I'm getting really hungry...
(06.29.10 @ 10:33 AM)Chocolate Caramel Crunch - chocolate cupcake, caramel frosting, a drizzle of chocolate and crunchy chocolate pearls on top
(06.29.10 @ 10:34 AM)Pumpkin cupcake with a cream cheese-type frosting topped with brown sugar candied walnuts.
(06.29.10 @ 11:27 AM)The "Live-it-up-cake" -- A vanilla cupcake filled with a creamy cheesecake filling, topped with raspberry cream frosting and red & white sprinkles. Perfect for a bachelorette party for the girls to celebrate with!

(06.29.10 @ 12:02 PM)The "Honeymoon Cupcake": a dark chocolate cupcake filled with raspberry filling, then topped with chocolate ganache, chopped hazelnuts, and a drizzle of honey topping. Garnished with a fondant heart.
A delish aphrodisiac!
(06.29.10 @ 12:46 PM)How about a spicy/sweet cupcake? Like chipotle dark chocolate cake with a lime cream cheese frosting?
(06.29.10 @ 04:12 PM)I'd love a s'mores cupcake. Dark chocolate cupcake with marshmallow frosting, sprinkled with crushed graham crackers and garnished with a graham cracker triangle. Omnomnom!
(06.29.10 @ 05:53 PM)I'm not entering the contest, but I just wanted to say that the cupcakes at Mix Bakery look soooo yummy!!!! Good Luck Beantown Bride picking a winner. :)
(06.30.10 @ 04:42 PM)Cheesecake cupcake with cream cheese frosting and fresh strawberries!!
(07.01.10 @ 10:27 AM)The comments are delicious!! :-) I'm going to have to say KRISTEN is the winner! The s'mores got me Kristen, as I have a bag of massive marshmallow's sitting on my desk that I keep chomping on!! Happy Wedding Planning!!
