When Gayle and Brian decided on a Florida wedding they were ecstatic for sunshine and sand but broken-hearted at leaving their best friend behind--their dog Reese.
Many couples incorporate their dogs into their wedding day. Whether their duty is ring bearer, grooms dog, or a happy guest at the reception, dogs aren't relegated to the doghouse on their owner's big day. But a destination wedding is different.
"To make up for Reese's presence, Gayle and Brian asked if they could take some engagement pictures with her," says photographer Emily Ku. Three's a crowd for an engagement shoot--especially when it involved a frisky four-legged friend. To make things easier, Emily planned to shoot part of the engagement session by the couple's apartment so they could quickly take Reese home for the rest of the shoot. Emily also suggests bringing a few dog treats along, just in case.

My sister and bro-in-law's dog was the handsomest of all the groomsmen at their wedding ;)
