Sparks flew for childhood neighbors Elizabeth Seidl and Kent Bardwell when Liz's car wouldn't start. Kent drove by in his shiny 1967 Camaro and offered help. He couldn't get her cart to start, but he sure revved her engine when he took her out for ice cream after literally flooding her engine.
They dated throughout high school and college but went their separate ways for a few years when Liz moved from North Carolina to Boston.
Kent actually proposed twice on the same day. First with a ring that was a replica of a promise ring he had given her (and she had lost) six years earlier. "I was blown away!" Liz says. The second proposal came with a beautiful princess cut solitaire yellow diamond. It's hard for Liz to give Kent whose 6'7, a big hug. She tackled him twice that day.
