Karin Elliott and Bart LoPiccolo threw caution out the window and gave tradition the day off when planning their August 2009 wedding. Instead of one big bash the couple made their wedding last a whole month by having a small ceremony and brunch for 35 guests at the Charles Hotel in Cambridge on August 9, and a full-fledged reception on the 29th at the Cambridge Boat Club -with their honeymoon in the middle. "The fact that we separated the two meant less wedding stress," Karin says. "It also meant we could invite all our friends, since we wanted to keep the actual ceremony small."
Another advantage to a two-day affair? The bride got to wear her dress twice! Karin bought the simple silk and chiffon off-white Ravini gown at Allegria Bridal in Belmont.
